Montoro Wines

Montoro Wines is a small family-owned vineyard on Cargo Road, a 5 to 10 minute drive from central Orange. It is a dog-friendly cellar door, often with a resident winery dog about, and the intimate, vine-side setting suits a relaxed tasting with your dog along.

The dog setup. Well-behaved dogs on a lead are welcome to wander the grounds and outdoor areas, and visitors report being able to bring dogs into the tasting shed too. It is a boutique operation, so bring your own water bowl rather than count on one. Keep your dog leashed and settled around other guests.

Known for. Shiraz is the focus here, including unusual white shiraz and sparkling shiraz, poured in an intimate, educational tasting. A small, personal cellar door rather than a big polished venue.

Getting there. Cargo Road, Orange wine region, roughly 5 to 10 minutes from town. On-site parking near the cellar door.

Nearby with the dogs. Lake Canobolas is close by for on-lead walking trails, and nearby Heifer Station Wines is also dog-friendly.
