What visitors mention
A historic cellar door about 2km south of Nuriootpa on Barossa Valley Way, set among old-vine vineyards, established gardens and 1890s stone buildings. The rare thing here for dog owners is that dogs are welcome inside the cellar door as well as out, so weather does not decide your visit.
The dog setup. Dogs are permitted inside the cellar door, which is unusual, and also in the outdoor areas and gardens. Water bowls are typically provided. Keep your dog with you and under control given the indoor access.
Good to know. Open daily, generally 10am to 5pm. Kaesler is known for dry-grown Shiraz off vines dating to 1893, headlined by the Old Bastard Shiraz, alongside Grenache, Mataro and whites. A portion of proceeds from the Art Collection series supports Greyhounds as Pets South Australia.
Getting there and parking. On Barossa Valley Way just south of the Nuriootpa town centre, roughly an hour from the Adelaide CBD, with ample on-site parking steps from the door.
Nearby with the dogs. The Nuriootpa fenced dog park on Penrice Road is a few minutes away for an off-leash run, and the shared-use path linking Nuriootpa, Tanunda and Angaston suits a longer leashed walk.
