Di Lusso Estate

Di Lusso Estate is an Italian-inspired winery at 162 Eurunderee Lane, about ten minutes from the Mudgee town centre, built around Italian varietals, a wood-fired pizza kitchen and lake-side vineyard grounds. It is a proper dog friendly stop by policy, not just by reputation: the estate's own visit page invites leashed dogs to the outdoor tables.

The dog setup

Dogs on a lead are welcome at the outdoor tables on the grass and under the pergola, where water bowls are usually available. Pets are not permitted inside the indoor dining or tasting areas, though certified service dogs are welcome everywhere. The practical tip comes straight from the estate: note the dog when you book online or call ahead, so you are allocated an outdoor spot rather than arriving to find none left.

The vibe

This is the Mudgee cellar door for making a meal of it. The range runs deep on Italian varietals such as Sangiovese, Nebbiolo and Vermentino, and the kitchen fires wood-fired pizzas and Mediterranean plates like arancini and lamb cutlets with a view over the water feature. The estate also makes its own olive oil. Weekends are the pizza-and-crowds days; weekdays are calmer and easier for a dog that needs to settle on the grass.

Max: book with the dog noted if you want pizza, not just a tasting. Turning up unannounced at a busy lunch can leave you without an outdoor table.

Getting there and parking

Follow Eurunderee Lane out of Mudgee for about seven kilometres; the estate is signposted with ample gravel parking on site and flat access to the tasting room and dining areas. Doors open at 10:30am daily, with the kitchen and tastings running into the late afternoon, and later closes on Friday and Saturday evenings.

The Eurunderee belt is dense with cellar doors: Lowe Family Wine Co on Tinja Lane and YEATES Wines on Craigmoor Road are both close by, and Petersons Winery MUDGEE has the porch views for a slow finish.
