McIntosh Estate

McIntosh Estate is a small, family-run cellar door in the Eurunderee wine district, about ten minutes from Mudgee, and it is one of the more dog-welcoming stops in the region. The relaxed, unpretentious style is exactly what suits a tasting with a dog in tow.

Dogs at McIntosh Estate

Leashed dogs are welcome on site, including at the tasting area and the outdoor seating, and visits usually come with an introduction to Cooper, the resident winery dog. Because Cooper is often keen to play, bring a dog that is comfortable around other dogs and keep the lead on so the greeting stays friendly.

Max: come early on an open day for a quiet, unhurried tasting. Water is generally on hand but pack your own bowl to be safe.

The vibe

The estate pours small-batch wines with a quality-over-volume approach, and tastings lean personal: expect to talk wine with the people who made it rather than work through a laminated list. Cabernets and sparkling get particular attention. Hours are weekend-focused, Friday through Sunday from about 10:30am to 4:30pm, so confirm before you make the drive out of town.

It sits in the Eurunderee district roughly ten minutes from central Mudgee, with ample on-site parking at the vineyard entrance. The drive out along the Eurunderee backroads is easy gravel-free touring in a regular car.
