Stringybark Cottage Winery & Restaurant

Stringybark Cottage Winery & Restaurant is a rustic winery, distillery and restaurant at 2060 Chittering Road in the Chittering Valley, about 45 to 60 minutes north of Perth. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor courtyard, so a country-style lunch or a tasting does not require leaving the dog at home.

The dog setup

Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating and courtyard areas on a leash, kept under control around other guests. Indoors is restricted to service animals. An open fire covers winter, air conditioning the summer, and live music turns up on weekends. The venue runs Thursday to Sunday only, closing Monday to Wednesday, so plan around it.

Getting there and parking

The winery sits on Chittering Road in Lower Chittering, a scenic drive north from Perth through the valley, with on-site parking. The Swan Valley wine region is about half an hour back towards the city if you want to stretch the day into a two-stop run.

On the Swan Valley leg home, Windy Creek Estate in Herne Hill welcomes dogs on its shaded lawns and Edgecombe Winery takes well-mannered dogs in its outdoor cafe spaces. For a proper run before lunch, Swan View Fenced Dog Park is on the way through the hills.
