The dog setup
Dogs on-lead are welcome at the cellar door and out across the vineyard grounds; the lead stays on at all times because this is a working vineyard. Water bowls are usually provided and there is no extra charge to bring a dog along for a tasting. Keep your dog with you rather than wandering off-leash, especially out among the vines.

The focus is single-vineyard Hunter varieties: Chardonnay, Semillon, Rose and Shiraz. Getting there and parking
Find it at 53 Talga Road, Lovedale, an easy drive off the Hunter Expressway with on-site parking. There is no practical public transport, so plan a driver. Open Thursday to Sunday, with Tuesday and Wednesday by appointment, so check ahead midweek; a quieter weekday visit also suits a nervous dog better than a busy Saturday.
Close by with the dogs
The Lovedale strip is dense with dog-friendly cellar doors: Tatler Wines is a short drive and has a large welcoming lawn, Allandale Winery is nearby, and Emma's Cottage rounds out an easy Lovedale day.
