What visitors mention
Stomp! Wines is a small, family-run cellar door on Wilderness Road in Lovedale, and it is about as dog-welcoming as Hunter Valley cellar doors get. Dogs are allowed both inside the cellar door and in the outdoor seating, and the place is set up with dogs in mind, right down to the gift shop.
The dog setup. Dogs are welcome inside and out, but must be kept on a lead at all times on the property. There is a young, energetic winery dog named Lottie in residence, so only friendly, socialised, well-trained dogs should visit. Water bowls are usually available, and the cellar door often stocks dog treats and toys, including rose-themed chew toys in the gift shop.
Good to know. Stomp is known for its sparkling wines, including a sparkling Chambourcin, and for gelati and sparkling pairings, alongside a broader range of Hunter varietals. It is a compact, personal cellar door rather than a big venue.
Getting there and parking. Find it at 504 Wilderness Road, Lovedale, easily reached via the Lovedale exit off the Hunter Expressway. On-site gravel and grass parking sits right outside the cellar door. Drive, and plan a driver.
Nearby with the dogs. Gartelmann Wines and Saltire Estate are both close on Wilderness Road and welcome leashed dogs, and the quiet country roads around here suit a pre-tasting walk.
When to go. Being small, it can feel full quickly on a busy weekend, which is a lot for an excitable dog. A weekday or an early slot is calmer.
