What visitors mention
Tatler Wines is a family-owned boutique winery on Lovedale Road with a big lawn and views over the Brokenback Range. It is very dog-friendly, with dogs allowed inside the cellar door, out on the grounds, and at the on-site dining, which makes it one of the easier Lovedale stops to spend a few hours at with a dog.
The dog setup. Dogs are welcome inside the cellar door during tastings, on the expansive front lawn and outdoor area, and at the on-site restaurant area. They can also join the Bohemian picnic experience. Keep dogs on a lead while in the vineyard grounds. Water bowls are usually provided.
Good to know. The wines are made by respected local winemaker Andrew Thomas, spanning Semillon, Chardonnay, Verdelho, Shiraz, Sangiovese, Cabernet, and Merlot. The lawn and picnic setup make it a good choice when you want to settle in rather than just taste and move on.
Getting there and parking. Find it at 477 Lovedale Road, Lovedale, central to the Lovedale strip and easy off the Hunter Expressway. On-site parking is right in front of the grounds. Drive, and organise a designated driver.
Nearby with the dogs. Stomp! Wines and Saltire Estate on Wilderness Road both welcome dogs, as does Gartelmann Wines on Lovedale Road, so this pairs neatly into a dog-friendly loop.
When to go. The lawn is the draw, so a mild, dry day beats a wet one. Weekday visits are calmer for dogs, since the picnic and dining crowd builds on weekends.
