MyattsField Vineyards

MyattsField Vineyards is a boutique family-run cellar door on Union Road in Carmel, in the Bickley Valley about 30 minutes from Perth. What makes it stand out for dog owners is simple: dogs are welcome not just on the lawns but inside the tasting room too, which turns it into a rare wet-weather option in the Perth Hills wine scene.

The dog setup

Dogs on lead are welcome across the whole visit: the indoor cellar door, the verandahs and the open lawns looking over the vines. Water bowls are sometimes out but not guaranteed, so bring your own. You can bring a picnic to spread on the lawns alongside a bottle, though it is BYO food only, no BYO alcohol.

The vibe

This is a small, family-run operation with a quiet, unhurried feel rather than a polished big-brand cellar door. The wines lean red, with Shiraz the flagship and a following for the fortifieds and sparkling. Staff are known for being welcoming, and the valley views do the rest of the work.

Getting there and parking

The cellar door sits on Union Road, Carmel, a short drive from Kalamunda up in the hills. Parking is gravel and on site, right by the door. Hours run Friday to Sunday, 11am to 5pm, and are closed the rest of the week; confirm before you drive out because boutique cellar doors shift their trading hours seasonally.

While you're out there

Pair a tasting with a walk: the Jorgensen Park Walk Trail in Kalamunda is close for an on-lead bush loop before lunch. Hainault @ Carmel pours nearby on Carmel Road, and Kalamunda Hotel is a solid dog-friendly stop on the way home.
