Plume Estate

Plume Estate is a small, family-run vineyard on a hilltop in the Bickley Valley, part of the Perth Hills wine belt. It is best known for wide valley views and casual tapas-style platters, and dogs on lead are welcome in the outdoor area while you eat.

Dog access and setup. Well-behaved dogs on a lead are allowed in the outdoor seating area. Dogs are not permitted in the indoor dining room. Bring your own water bowl and treats, as these are not guaranteed to be supplied. A resident golden retriever named Willow is sometimes around to greet guests, so keep an eye out if your dog is reactive to other dogs.

Known for. Plume Estate is a boutique operation rather than a large commercial winery, with a homely, relaxed feel. Regulars come back for the platters and flammkuchen alongside the pinot noir, and for the panoramic hilltop views over the valley.

For a walk first, Jorgensen Park Walk Trail in nearby Kalamunda is a solid option. When to go: weekday lunches are quieter and easier with a dog underfoot, since the outdoor area is the only option and fills up on weekends. Good for owners after a relaxed hilltop lunch rather than a big produce-orchard day out.
