Eildon Hill Reserve

Eildon Hill Reserve, around the old reservoir site off Paling Avenue in Wilston, rewards a short climb with views through the trees to the Brisbane skyline, Moreton Bay and the D'Aguilar Range.

Lead rules

Brisbane City Council parks default to on lead, and this is a popular on-lead walking and running spot. Keep the lead on for the whole walk.

The walk

Surfaces change as you go, from old paved roadway to concrete and stone steps and gravel bush tracks. The steps make it a good workout for fit dogs.

Mature trees give some shade on the ridge. There is street parking nearby but no dedicated car park, so bring water for the dog.

Make a day of it

Wilston village is close, with Alcove Cafe and Deli or Cafe Laybes in Windsor for coffee.

Go early on summer days, when the hilltop breeze is at its best.
