Tygum Park

Tygum Park in Waterford West wraps a paved path around Tygum Lagoon, a freshwater lagoon busy with ducks, swans and pelicans. The circuit is under 2 kilometres, flat, and on lead only.

Lead rules

Logan City Council permits dogs on a lead on the paths and park grounds. It is not an off-lead park.

The walk

The concrete and asphalt path is shared with bikes, passing open grass, exercise stations and seating. Some sections are narrow, so reactive or anxious dogs need extra care around other walkers and the birds.

Big mature trees and picnic shelters give good patches of shade. There are public toilets on site and bins along the main paths.

Max: Keep your dog out of the lagoon. There have been blue-green algae warnings here that affect pets, so use the park taps instead.
