Upper Wauhop Park

Upper Wauhop Park is the top section of Wauhop Park on Wauhop Road in East Fremantle, and the Town of East Fremantle has made it an off-lead dog exercise area.

Leads and sport

Dogs can run off lead here as long as they respond to your voice.

The neighbouring playing fields can carry on-lead rules during organised sport and training, so keep a lead handy.

What it is like

This is open grass rather than a paved path network. Trees frame the playing fields, with glimpses toward the river.

It gives dogs far more room to stretch out than a suburban footpath, and locals gather here in the morning and afternoon.

Water and parking

There is no reliable dog water on the upper grounds, so bring a bowl and bottle. Bins are around the playing field precinct.

Shade is only at the edges, and street parking is on Wauhop Road.

Walk down to May Street Larder for a coffee afterwards.

With so little shade, summer visits are best early. It suits dogs that love a ball and a long run.
