Swadling Reserve Loop

Swadling Reserve on Bay Road looks straight over Toowoon Bay Beach through a row of big pines, and that coastal view is the whole point. Dogs are welcome on a lead.

Lead rules

Central Coast Council allows dogs here on a lead only. Dogs are also banned within 10 metres of the playground, so plan your loop around it.

The walk

This is a reserve rather than a formal track, with a flat concrete path, softfall and grass. The path connects to nearby coastal tracks if you want to keep going.

Mature trees give generous shade for a rest, and bins are spread around the grounds. Taps are in the wider park but spaced out, so carry water.

Getting started

Free parking is on site and in the surrounding streets, and there are public toilets near the reserve.

Max: The patrolled swimming beach below is not for dogs. Save the sand for the signed off-lead stretch at North Shelly Beach.

Make a day of it

Head up to North Shelly Beach Dog Beach, where dogs can run on the sand off lead under effective control.

Flat and shaded, it suits older dogs and anyone after a slow walk with a view.
