Rouse Hill Regional Park

Rouse Hill Regional Park spreads across open grassland and eucalypt woodland beside Second Ponds Creek, with traces of colonial farming along the way. Dogs are welcome throughout, on a lead.

Lead rules

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service requires dogs on lead at all times. They can use the paths and open areas but are not allowed inside the pavilions.

The walk

Asphalt and formed paths make for gentle walking, including the Rouse Hill Estate Walk. Stretches of open grass alternate with shaded bush, with picnic shelters along the way.

Water and opening hours

The rainwater tanks are untreated, so bring your own water and a bowl. Bins are limited on the bush tracks, so plan to carry bags out.

Drive in off Worcester Road, via Rouse Road. The park opens 8am to 6pm from May to August, and 8am to 8pm from September to April.

Max: Hours change with the season, so check the closing time before an afternoon walk.

Make a day of it

Connie Lowe Reserve is nearby for off-lead play, and Mungerie House is close for lunch.

When to go

The gentle paths and picnic areas suit a relaxed weekend outing with an older dog. Summer afternoons are warm on the open grass, so aim for the morning.
