Calm water, moored boats and a flat paved path make the Mangles Bay Foreshore in Rockingham an easy on-lead walk beside Cockburn Sound.
Leads and the beach
The City of Rockingham allows dogs on lead along the shared paths and in the adjacent parks. The beach and the cafe strip are generally off limits unless signs say otherwise.
The walk
Hard, flat concrete and asphalt paths hug the shoreline, shared with bikes and prams. Norfolk Island pines, shelters and grassy banks give some shade, though parts of the beachfront path are fully exposed.
Bubblers with dog bowls at the base are spaced along the main foreshore paths, and bins are easy to find. Car parks sit at several points, including near the yacht club.
Make a day of it
Finish with a coffee at Bean at the Beach or Central Block Coffee.
Morning and evening strolls are the pick here, before the exposed stretches of path heat up.
