Riverstone Oval Perimeter Path

The paths around the ovals at Riverstone Park on Garfield Road West make an easy on-lead loop for local dogs. Blacktown City Council has not made the park an off-leash area, so the lead stays on.

The walk

Sealed concrete and asphalt paths wind past the sports fields, netball courts and fitness equipment. It is flat and simple, the kind of lap that fits around a busy day.

There is a water refill station on site and off-street parking beside the sports facilities. Shade along the path is patchy, with scattered trees rather than cover.

Leads and sport

Dogs must be on a leash on the sports fields and in the general recreation areas. Bring your own bags, as none are provided.

For off-lead time, Riverbrae Off-Leash Dog Park and Ridgeview Park Fenced Dog Park are both in Riverstone.

When to go

With little shade on the path, summer walks are best early or late in the day. The flat, sealed surface suits older dogs and short daily laps.
