Pullenvale Forest Park

For a shaded bush walk in Brisbane's west, Pullenvale Forest Park follows a creek through remnant forest. Dogs are welcome, on lead.

Lead rules

This is a general Brisbane City Council park and bushland area, not a designated off-leash space. Keep your dog on lead for the whole walk.

The walk

Natural bush tracks mix with timber boardwalk sections. A canopy of rainforest, vine forest and eucalypt keeps most of the route in shade before it opens onto a trickling creek bed.

A local bushcare group looks after the reserve, and the tracks are well kept as a result.

Before you set off

The internal tracks have no dog water stations, and bins are limited at the trailheads. Bring water and a bowl, and plan to carry your dog's waste out.

Parking is informal, on small gravel or roadside areas near the Pullenvale Road entries, and spaces are limited.

Make a day of it

The Curious Caravan Café is the nearby coffee stop, and Loffs Road Fenced Dog Park is the place for an off-lead run afterwards.

Who it suits

The deep shade makes this one of the better summer walks in the area. It suits calm dogs who would rather sniff than sprint.
