The Curious Caravan Café

The Curious Caravan Cafe is a vintage 1975 caravan set up on the grounds of Pullenvale Hall, serving specialty coffee to a steady stream of dog walkers making the most of the quiet countryside setting. Dogs are welcome in the open outdoor area around the caravan, which is the whole point of the place.

Dog access and setup. Seating is outdoor only, on benches and rustic tables scattered around the caravan and hall grounds, so dogs on lead are easy to manage here. Indoor seating inside the hall itself is not part of the dog-friendly area. Water for dogs is available on request; bring your own bowl if your dog is fussy about sharing.

Known for. Specialty coffee from a small roaster, plus vegan and gluten-free treats, all served from the caravan window. It is a grab-a-coffee-and-sit-on-the-grass kind of stop rather than a sit-down cafe.

Getting there and parking. The cafe is at 302 Grandview Road, Pullenvale, in the Pullenvale Hall grounds. Parking is free in the adjoining gravel car park, with flat, easy access straight to the caravan.

Nearby with the dogs. The hall grounds have plenty of grass for a stretch before or after coffee, and Grandview Road itself is a leafy, quiet stretch for an on-lead walk. Gap Creek Reserve in the Mount Coot-tha forest is a short drive away and has several dog-friendly hiking trails if you want to make a longer day of it.

When to go. The cafe only opens Monday to Friday mornings, 5.30am to 12pm, so weekend visits are not an option. Early mornings are quietest and best suited to dogs that prefer to avoid a crowd; confirm current hours before heading out.
