Peakhurst Park

Peakhurst Park is a sports ground first, but its concrete and asphalt paths make a handy on-lead loop around the fields. The catch is the exclusion zones, so know them before you go.

Lead rules and no-go zones

Georges River Council requires dogs to be on lead throughout the park. Dogs are not allowed within 10 metres of playground or barbecue equipment.

Dogs are also banned from the synthetic sports fields, so stay on the perimeter paths.

The walk

The paths trace the edge of the multipurpose fields, passing a modern playground and outdoor table tennis tables painted with bright artwork. Shade is limited to trees along the boundaries, and the open turf takes full sun.

Bins sit around the perimeter, and water is available near the amenity blocks. Parking is on site, reached from Hedley Street.

Make a day of it

For an off-lead run, the Peakhurst Heights off-leash area is close by. Finish with a coffee at Cafe on Pindari.

When to go

Early mornings and evenings avoid the midday sun on the open fields. It suits a short, flat daily walk for dogs that are calm around sport.
