Cafe on Pindari is a small, family-run breakfast and brunch spot at 42 Pindari Road, Peakhurst Heights, and one of the more genuinely dog-friendly cafes in the area: dogs are welcome inside as well as at the outdoor tables, which is rare enough in Sydney's south to matter.

The dog setup

Dogs can join you at outdoor tables and inside the cafe itself, not just on the footpath. Staff keep water bowls out for thirsty dogs and a treat jar on the counter for well-behaved visitors. Keep your dog leashed and settled while you are seated, and choose the outdoor tables if your dog prefers a bit of air in warmer weather.

Regulars come back for solid coffee, a hearty breakfast and brunch menu, milkshakes, gelato and large servings; the bacon and egg roll is a fixture. The community feel is the other drawcard, with staff who remember faces on both ends of the leash. Hours run 7am to 2pm weekdays and 7:30am to 2pm weekends, so it is strictly a breakfast-and-lunch venue.

The cafe sits on Pindari Road in the Peakhurst Heights residential pocket, with free street parking around the cafe. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, and the strip is a short hop from the Forest Road shops at Lugarno and Mortdale.

Warm up first at the Peakhurst Heights dog off-leash area, then walk in for brunch. For a longer outing with creek and water views, the walking trails through Oatley Park are a short drive away.
