Pimpama River Parklands

Flat paths, wide open grass and a quiet lake make Pimpama River Parklands, off Reedmans Road in Ormeau, an easy on-lead stroll for dogs of any age.

Lead rules

The City of Gold Coast requires dogs on a leash at all times across the parklands. They are not allowed in children's playground areas.

The walk

Paved paths run through the flat green space beside the lake and past touch football fields. Some mature trees give shade, but much of the route is open to the sun.

The grounds are regularly mowed and kept tidy, which locals appreciate.

Getting started

There is dedicated parking, including accessible bays, plus toilets, water and bins for dog waste on site. A portable bowl still helps on the open stretches.

Pepsi: The lake is lovely to look at, but the path is exposed. Go early in summer and carry water.

Circuit Park Fenced Agility Dog Park in Ormeau Hills is the place for off-lead play afterwards, and KOVI Cafe in Ormeau is handy for coffee.
