Montview Oval Path

The path around Montview Oval, off Montview Parade in Hornsby Heights, is a flat, easy circuit that suits dogs of any age. Dogs are welcome, but only on a lead.

Lead rules

Hornsby Shire Council treats Montview Oval as a sportsground and community park, not one of its designated off-leash areas. Keep your dog on a lead and off the pitches while organised games are on.

The walk

The circuit mixes paved and grass sections around the oval and playground. Wide green fields sit inside a ring of leafy trees, with views out over the valley toward Provest Creek.

Shade trees line the edges, but parts of the loop are open to full sun.

Getting started

There is an on-site car park off Montview Parade. Drinking water is near the amenities block, with bins around the facility and public toilets beside the playground.

Make a day of it

For an off-lead session, Hornsby Dog Park is close by. If you want more of a walk, Mills Park Walking Tracks in Asquith are a good follow-up.

Who it suits

Senior dogs and slower walkers will like the flat, low-impact loop. Go early on warm days, when the exposed sections are still cool.
