Dry Creek Trail

The Dry Creek Trail follows a creek corridor through Adelaide's north-east under big river red gums. It runs mainly through Modbury, Modbury North and Wynn Vale, brushing the edge of Fairview Park.

Lead rules

Keep dogs on a lead along the linear trail and its reserves. The City of Tea Tree Gully manages this stretch and signs any spots where different rules apply, so check the signs at each access point.

The walk

The path is a mix of sealed bitumen and compacted gravel. It winds beside the watercourse, with pockets of eucalypt woodland and plenty of birdlife.

It links into wider creek corridors, so you can walk as far as your dog wants.

Water and shade

Fairview Park Reserve nearby has drinking fountains. Shade is partial and some linear sections are exposed, so carry water for the dog on warm days.

Street parking is easy along the residential edges of the trail.

Make a day of it

For off-lead play, head to Golden Grove Fenced Dog Park, then grab a coffee at Shelley Street Cafe.

When to go

Summer mornings are best, before the open stretches heat up. The mostly smooth surface works well for older dogs.
