Bradfield Park North

Bradfield Park North sits under the northern approach of the Sydney Harbour Bridge in Milsons Point, right beside Kirribilli. It is an on-lead walk with a view that is hard to beat, taking in the Opera House, the harbour and the bridge overhead.

Lead rules

North Sydney Council manages the park, and dogs must stay on a lead. They are banned within 10 metres of children's play equipment.

The walk

Flat paths of concrete, bitumen, brick and stone run under and beside the bridge approach as part of the Bradfield Park Heritage Walk. You pass the Art Deco pylons, huge sandstone blocks and markers tracing the homes demolished to build the bridge.

Bubblers with dog-height bowls are in the park, and bins line the paths. Mature trees and the bridge deck itself give plenty of shade.

Getting there

Milsons Point station is right at the park's edge, which beats hunting for a spot. Metered street parking on Alfred Street South and Burton Street gets tight at peak times and on market days.

Make a day of it

Walk on to Milson Park on the Kirribilli foreshore, then grab a coffee at The Flying Bear.

When to go

Paved and shaded, it works in most weather and suits older dogs. Avoid market days if your dog dislikes crowds.
