Margaret Lewis Reserve

Margaret Lewis Reserve on Ingram Road in Coldstream is a fully fenced off-lead reserve with a 1 kilometre gravel circuit around open grass and restored bushland. The lead can come off from start to finish.

Off-lead rules

The whole reserve is a dedicated, fully fenced off-lead dog area, looked after by Yarra Ranges Council together with the Friends of Margaret Lewis Reserve. Keep your dog within sight and recall range all the same.

The walk

The flat gravel track loops for about a kilometre past native plantings tended by volunteers, restored wildlife habitat and a new frog bog. Wide grassy zones inside the fence give plenty of room to run.

Locals leave tennis balls and rope toys around for community use.

Water and shade

Water taps and bowls sit near the shelters, and dog waste bins are placed along the route. Shade trees, shelters and seating are scattered around the track.

Pepsi: Fill the bowl at the shelter before the second lap. A fenced kilometre goes by fast when you are chasing a ball.

Parking is reached by the driveway between Coldstream Primary School and the Coldstream Community Centre.

Refuel at The Yarra Valley Pie Stop after the walk.

It suits dogs that need a safe, fenced run, including those still working on their recall.
