Lollypop Creek Trail

Lollypop Creek Trail follows a restored creek through Wyndham Vale, and its standout moment is the basalt rock at Tucker's Waterhole. Dogs stay on a lead the whole way, and the creek itself is off limits to them.

Lead rules

Wyndham City Council requires dogs on a lead along the trail and through the reserves it passes. Dogs are also not allowed into the creek or the wetlands, which matters on a hot day when a water-loving dog spots the pools.

Max: Those waterholes look inviting, but the creek and wetlands are out of bounds. Carry water and a bowl so your dog is not tempted.

The walk

The path switches between sealed sections and gravel, with raised timber boardwalk in places. River red gums line much of the creek, and small wetlands open up along the way.

Melbourne Water helps look after the waterway, and the rehabilitation work shows in the native planting.

When to go

The red gums give some shade on warmer days, but bring water for the dog since the creek is not an option. It suits steady on-lead walkers rather than dogs that need to run.
