Moffat Wetlands

Moffat Wetlands is a small wetland basin tucked among Lalor's residential streets, with paths looping past reeds, native grasses and waterbirds. Think of it as a quick, calm leg-stretch rather than a long outing.

Lead rules

The City of Whittlesea is an on-lead municipality. Dogs must stay leashed here at all hours, as the wetland is not a designated off-lead park.

The walk

Packed gravel and concrete paths circle the basin and link into the wider local path network, so you can stretch it out if you like.

Shade is limited, and there is no dog water on the path itself. Bring a bottle and bags.

Make a day of it

For off-lead time, the Whittlesea Public Gardens Fenced Dog Park is close by. Lil Mocha Cafe & Restaurant is an option for a coffee afterwards.

Early morning is best for birdlife and for keeping an open, sunny walk cool.
