Grinsell Street Reserve is a small patch of green in Kotara, good for a short on-lead neighbourhood walk rather than a big outing. Think trees, open grass and a quiet street setting.
The walk
Paved paths run through the reserve past scattered trees and open lawn, with houses on the edges. A lap or two is enough to stretch the legs and let your dog have a sniff.
Lead rules
This is a City of Newcastle reserve and it is not one of the council's leash-free areas, so keep your dog on lead the whole time. Street parking is the way in.
Make a day of it
Kotara's cafe strip is close by. Try The Letter Q or The Golden Goat after your walk.
It suits a quick morning or evening loop with a calm dog. Bring water, and head to a signed leash-free park if your dog needs a proper run.
