Fernleigh Cafe

Fernleigh Cafe sits on Fletcher Street in Adamstown, a casual breakfast and lunch stop a short detour off the Fernleigh Track. It has become a regular pause point for walkers and riders doing the track with a dog, thanks to a relaxed garden-style outdoor dining area that takes pets.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating, a leafy space with room to settle a dog beside your table rather than squeeze one under it. Keep leads on and short while food is moving around. Bring your own travel bowl for water rather than counting on one being handed over.

Worth knowing

The kitchen is known for generous serves: big breakfast plates, eggs benedict, a well-liked reuben burger and the usual burger line-up, plus properly poured lattes and a muffin cabinet. Hours run 7am to 1:45pm on weekdays, with an earlier 8am to 11:30am window on weekends, so weekend coffee here is a morning-only plan. Mornings fill with the track crowd either way; midweek is the calmest bet for an easy table.

Getting there and parking

Fletcher Street is a few streets back from Brunker Road, Adamstown's main strip, with street parking on Fletcher and the surrounding blocks. Coming off the Fernleigh Track on foot or by bike is often easier than driving.

Close by with the dogs

The Fernleigh Track itself is the obvious pairing, an on-leash shared path you can ride or walk either side of coffee. Adamstown Dog Off-Leash Area covers proper off-lead time nearby, and if you want to keep the cafe crawl going, The Bondwood Cafe and Hope Coffee & Sandwiches both take dogs in the same suburb.
