Eaton Park

Eaton Park is a small City of Darwin park at 20 Eaton Place in Karama, good for a short stroll on lead under the shade trees. It is a standard public park, not a dog exercise area, so the lead stays on.

The walk

Concrete and grass paths wind past open lawns and a recently upgraded playground, with suburban streets on every side. There is no set loop, so combine the park with the surrounding footpaths if your dog wants more.

Keep well clear of the playground when children are using it.

Make a day of it

For off-lead time, the DogsNT and DODC Showgrounds Area is the nearby option. For a bush walk, try Holmes Jungle Nature Park.

When to go

Early morning or evening, when the Top End heat eases. Bring plenty of water for the dog.
