DogsNT & DODC Showgrounds Area

The DogsNT & DODC Showgrounds Area on Tate Place in Winnellie is the Northern Territory's headquarters for organised dog sport, home to Dogs NT and the Darwin Obedience Dog Club, with open grass grounds used for agility, obedience and conformation.

The rules. This is primarily a club and event venue rather than an open off-leash park, so casual visitors should keep dogs on lead and under control unless a specific event or session says otherwise. Dogs in season are not permitted. Clean up after your dog. During trials or training sessions, dogs not entered in the event may need to stay leashed and clear of the competition area, confirm with Dogs NT before turning up on a club night.

What's there. Open-air showgrounds and agility grounds, well-maintained grass, club rooms, and parking on site. It is built for structured training rather than a fenced free-run space.

Getting there. 1 Tate Place, Winnellie, just off the Stuart Highway and about ten minutes from Darwin CBD. On-site parking is available; bus stops on the Stuart Highway are a short walk from Tate Place.

Nearby with the dogs. Discovery Parks - Darwin, a pet-friendly holiday park, is close by in Winnellie/Pinelands. A handful of cafes in the Winnellie light-industrial strip have outdoor seating that will suit a dog on lead.

Best visited for a specific club session or event, confirmed in advance. For a casual off-leash walk, this isn't the venue, try the Winnellie Dog Park nearby instead.
