James Drysdale Reserve

James Drysdale Reserve on Pine Hills Drive is a sports ground with a bonus: it sits at the doorstep of Bunyaville Conservation Park's shared trails. Everything here is on-lead walking.

Lead rules

The City of Moreton Bay requires dogs on a lead in its sporting and public reserves unless an area is signed off-leash, and this one is not.

On the Bunyaville trails dogs must also stay leashed, and they are not allowed on the mountain-bike-only tracks.

The walk

Inside the reserve, concrete paths link grassed fields used for baseball, netball and soccer, framed by native trees. Head for the bush and you swap concrete for undulating dirt fire trails under dry eucalypt forest with plenty of shade.

Bins stop at the sports precinct. Out on the conservation park tracks you pack out your waste, and water is not guaranteed, so carry both bags and a bottle.

For an off-lead run, the Bunya Fenced Dog Park is close by, or try the Samford Conservation Park trails.

There is ample parking at the reserve, which makes it an easy trailhead for a longer bush walk.
