Sutherlands Park

Sutherlands Park is a big sports reserve on the corner of Southern River Road and Holmes Street, on the Huntingdale side of the Southern River border, with a concrete footpath circuit around its ovals. Dogs are welcome on the path, but on a lead at all times.

The walk

The dual-use circuit is paved and accessible, an easy surface for any dog. It loops past manicured ovals, an all-abilities playground and the edge of urban bushland.

Bush tracks beside the reserve add plenty of new smells for a curious dog.

Lead rules

The City of Gosnells requires dogs on lead here. This is a shared sports and community space, not a fenced dog park.

Water, shade and parking

Shaded seating sits near the playgrounds and clubrooms, but the ovals and perimeter are open to the sun. Bins are around the picnic areas, and toilets are near the central pavilion.

Water varies by section, so carry a bottle and bowl. Parking is free on site and in the surrounding streets.

Tribeca & Co in Southern River is a nearby coffee stop, and Ranford Fenced Dog Park in Canning Vale is there for off-lead play.

Off-peak times are the quietest, when the ovals are free and there is room to spread out.
