Tribeca & Co

Tribeca & Co is the Hamptons-styled brunch cafe inside Southern River Shopping Centre, and it has quietly become one of the better food stops in Perth's southeastern suburbs. For dog owners the deal is simple: the alfresco tables out the side of the cafe welcome dogs, so a coffee-and-breakfast run works as part of a morning out with the leash already on.

The dog setup

Dogs sit with you in the outdoor alfresco seating only; the indoor room is for diners without pets. Staff are used to four-legged regulars and will usually bring a water bowl out on request, though carrying your own removes the doubt. Keep the leash on and the dog tucked in close to your table, because the seating sits along a walkway that carries shopping-centre foot traffic past your elbow.

The food

The kitchen is the reason people drive here. The smashed avocado comes with feta, roasted tomato, radish and dukkah; the bruschetta stacks grilled bacon and goat's curd on sourdough; and the eggs benedict with maple bacon is one of the most-ordered plates. Coffee is a point of pride, with a creamy local Gesha blend pouring all day. Hours are Tuesday to Friday 7:30am to 2pm, Saturday 7:30am to 2pm, Sunday 8:15am to 2pm, closed Mondays.

Getting there and parking

The cafe sits in the Southern River Shopping Centre, opposite Bunnings, with free on-site parking and an entrance near Coles that keeps the walk in short. The centre is wheelchair and pram accessible. Aim for an early weekday table if your dog would rather not dodge Saturday morning foot traffic.

Close by with the dogs

Southern River itself has few fenced options, so most owners drive a few minutes: the Ranford Fenced Dog Park on Solway Green in Canning Vale is the closest fully fenced run, the Harmony Fields Fenced Dog Park sits over in Maddington, and the Bracadale Park Fenced Dog Park rounds out the trio.
