Hazel Glen Creek Path

Hazel Glen Creek Path is a sealed shared path along a creek corridor in Doreen, running through grassy parkland, wetlands and native planting beside Hazel Glen Drive. Dogs walk it on a lead.

Lead rules

The City of Whittlesea requires dogs to be leashed in public reserves unless they are inside a designated fenced dog park.

The walk

The concrete and asphalt path is smooth and easy, and it connects with the surrounding residential pockets, so you can join it from plenty of streets. The wetland and native plantings give dogs plenty to sniff.

Shade is patchy, with some mature trees and some open sections. Bins are mostly at entries and street crossings, and water points are scarce, so carry water and a bowl.

For off-lead time, Hamlin Street Fenced Dog Park is close by, and Laurimar Espresso Bar handles the coffee.

It suits a daily neighbourhood walk more than a big outing, and the smooth surface is kind to older dogs.
