Federation Park Loop

Old gum trees line Kenton Creek through Federation Park on Albert Street, and the Federation Park Loop follows its paths around the creek and the town's sporting grounds. The deciding detail is next door, where Gumeracha Oval doubles as an off-lead space.

Leads and the off-lead area

Dogs stay on lead in Federation Park itself and on the surrounding footpaths. Adelaide Hills Council lists the adjacent Gumeracha Oval as a dog off-lead area when sport or training is not using it.

The walk

Sealed paths mix with grassy parkland along the creek. You pass the ovals, the skate park and the Coolamon Sculpture.

Mature trees and gazebos give plenty of shade, and there are drinking fountains near the playground, bins, toilets and off-street parking off Albert Street.

Pepsi: Save the zoomies for the oval once sport has finished, then cool off in the shade by the creek.

Make a day of it

Add a lap of the Gumeracha Oval Walking Trail, or drive on to the Anderson Loop Trail Head for something longer.

Go outside training nights and weekend fixtures if you want the oval to yourselves.
