Pet policy
Off-lead in the non-restricted parts of the reserve; on lead on the western oval from 8am to 4pm on school days (City of Wanneroo).
About five hectares of Banksia woodland give Gumblossom Reserve in Quinns Rocks its character, and in spring the heath fills with wildflowers and orchids.
Lead rules
The City of Wanneroo allows dogs off-lead in the non-restricted parts of the reserve. The exception is the western oval, where dogs must be on a lead from 8am to 4pm on school days.
Outside those hours, the oval works as a regular exercise space.
The walk
The trail mixes paved connecting paths with natural limestone tracks through the woodland. Shade is best around the playground and the park areas beside it.
Parking is next to the community centre and playground, and toilets at the community centre and sports club buildings are open when those buildings are.
Max: The woodland is remnant bush and the orchids are fragile. Keep your dog on the tracks and check the signs at each entry.
Make a day of it
Quinns Dog Beach is the place for a swim afterwards, and Luna n Soul covers coffee in Quinns Rocks.
Spring is the time to go for the wildflowers. On school days, save an off-lead run on the oval for after 4pm, and carry water for the dog.
