Boothtown Reserve

Boothtown Reserve, at 19 Gipps Road in Greystanes rather than Wetherill Park, is a quiet on-lead stroll on paved paths through open grass. Its neighbour is a slice of history, the sandstone arches of the 19th-century Boothtown Aqueduct.

Lead rules

Cumberland City Council manages the reserve. It is not an off-leash park, so dogs stay on a lead.

The walk

Concrete paths run beside the lawn, smooth enough for prams and dogs that prefer an easy track. The heritage corridor next door carries the old water infrastructure, including the aqueduct's arches.

Seats and general bins line the paths. Carry your own dog bags, and bring water for the dog.

When to go

Morning or evening, when it is a low-stress walk without the crush of the bigger sports hubs. It suits calm dogs and older legs.
