Glenlogan Lakes Park

Off St Jude Circuit in Jimboomba, Glenlogan Lakes Park looks more like a well-kept farm than a suburban park, with rolling hills and dam-style lakes busy with waterbirds. It is an on-lead walk.

Lead rules

Logan City Council requires dogs to be on a lead no longer than 2 metres outside designated off-lead areas, and this park is not one. The lead stays on along the trails and across the open fields.

The walk

Council has upgraded the paths to concrete footpaths, replacing older gravel and dirt tracks. The route takes in rural views, grassed fields and the lakes, where ducks and other water birds gather.

Gum trees and other mature trees shade the picnic and barbecue pavilions, but parts of the path around the lakes are exposed. There are public toilets in the park.

Before you go

Dog water along the track is limited, so bring your own, and carry bags. The small car park by the main entrance off St Jude Circuit only takes a handful of cars.

Max: Keep the lead short near the water's edge. The ducks are the whole show for a curious dog.

Cornerstone Cafe in Jimboomba is the coffee stop, and Flagstone Regional Park is there for a bigger outing.

Who it suits

Owners after a quiet, predictable walk will like it, as will dogs that get wound up at busy off-lead parks. In summer, go early while the open lakeside stretches are still cool.
