Koo Wee Rup East Bushland Reserve

Despite the name, Koo Wee Rup East Bushland Reserve sits in Garfield, off Nar Nar Goon-Longwarry Road in Cardinia Shire. It is a small patch of native bush managed by Parks Victoria, best for a quiet leashed poke around.

Lead rules

Keep dogs on lead. This is conservation bushland, so read the Parks Victoria signs at the entry in case of closures or other restrictions.

The walk

There is no marked loop. Informal dirt tracks wind through native bush, and the canopy keeps much of the walk in shade.

Look for indigenous plants and signs of the local wildlife, which is the reason for the lead rule.

Max: Bush reserves like this are wildlife habitat first. Short lead, eyes on the track, and carry out everything you bring in.

Before you go

Parking is informal, on the roadside near the boundary. Bring water, a bowl and waste bags, as facilities are sparse.
