Greenfield Lane Fenced Dog Park

Greenfield Lane Fenced Dog Park is a small neighbourhood enclosure at 23 Greenfield Lane in Pakenham, roughly 45 by 20 metres of mostly grassed ground in a quiet residential pocket. It is a local's park: secure fencing close to home, no crowds, none of the bells and whistles of the bigger Cardinia dog parks, and one hard rule to plan around, there is no water tap on site.

The dog setup

A double-gated entrance leads onto open grass with a small gravel patch near the gate and a seating area for owners. Cardinia Shire Council's off-lead conditions apply: dogs stay off-lead only inside the fence and under effective voice or hand control within your sight at all times, you carry a lead of three metres or shorter through the gates and while inside, waste goes straight into the bins near the entrance, and any dog that turns aggressive is leashed and taken home. Handlers need to be at least 16, one person can control a maximum of two dogs, dogs must be council registered, and females on heat are not permitted in the off-lead area. Do not leave dogs unattended.

Max: carry water even for a short visit, there is no tap here. On warm days bring more than you think you need.

Worth knowing

The park is open around the clock. Weekday mornings and early afternoons are quietest, while evenings after 5pm and sunny weekends bring more dogs, so pick your time based on whether your dog wants a calm run or a social one. For a bigger or busier session, Pakenham has larger fenced options nearby, and the town centre cafes are five to seven minutes away.

Getting there and parking

Reach it via the local residential streets, generally off McGregor Road or the Princes Highway, with footpath access if you are walking from nearby streets. Free parking sits close by, and the town centre is a short drive east.
