Forest Path

Forest Path is the short, fully accessible loop at Crooked Brook Forest, near the Ferguson Valley about 25 km from Bunbury. It is 600 metres of flat concrete under jarrah and marri, one of the few forest walks an older dog can do in any weather.

Lead rules

Dogs must stay on lead at all times. The forest is Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions land, cared for with the Crooked Brook Forest Association.

The walk

The path is hardened concrete, built to wheelchair and pram standard. It circles a seasonal winter brook and a billabong, with birdlife around the water and wildflowers in spring.

The whole loop sits under the forest canopy, and the concrete stays usable through the wet months when bush tracks turn to mud.

Getting started

Park at the Crooked Brook car park, right at the trailhead. An accessible drop toilet, picnic shelters and gas barbecues are close by.

The trail has no dog bowls or taps and few dog bins, so pack water and bags.

When to go

Spring is the pick for wildflowers, and winter works too because the path stays firm. It is a gentle full outing for a senior dog, or a warm-up before one of the longer forest trails.
