Forbes Creek Remembrance Walk

The Forbes Creek Remembrance Walkway leaves the streets near Anzac Oval in Engadine and follows the creek into a strip of urban bushland. Dogs are allowed on a lead for the whole walk.

Lead rules

Sutherland Shire Council requires dogs to be leashed here. If you pass a park on the way, dogs must stay at least 10 metres from children's playground equipment.

The walk

Early sections are partly paved, then the track turns to natural bush trail beside running water. A leafy canopy gives good shade near the start.

Further along, the track can get rough and muddy after rain. Side paths link to nearby streets, so it is easy to make the walk short or long.

Getting started

The walkway starts near Achilles Road, opposite the Anzac Playing Fields. Park on the street around Achilles Road or Anzac Avenue.

Max: The creek is not for drinking. Street runoff ends up in it, so carry fresh water and a bowl.

Make a day of it

KV's Cafe Engadine is close by for a coffee after the walk.

Locals like it for a quiet morning or sunset walk, and the lower track is at its best after a dry spell.
