Floral Walk

Come in September or October and Mundijong's Floral Walk turns into a short wildflower show, with kangaroo paws and native orchids beside a flat, paved path. Dogs are welcome on lead.

The walk

The trail starts in the town centre on Paterson Street and runs about 1.4 kilometres return. Most people finish it well inside an hour.

It is rated Grade 1, the easiest class, with an even sealed surface that suits prams, bikes and assisted wheelchair users as well as dogs.

In season, watch for cowslip and spider orchids among the kangaroo paws.

Lead rules

The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale manages the trail. Keep dogs leashed here, since off-lead running is kept to the shire's signed dog exercise areas.

Getting started

There is parking near the trailhead, including accessible bays, plus public toilets and sheltered rest spots near the start.

There are no dedicated dog water bowls on the path, so bring water and bags.

Pepsi: It's short, so bring a bowl and let me have a proper drink at the end.

Finish with a meal at the Mundijong Tavern.

Spring mornings are the pick. The flat, sealed path makes it an easy one for older or smaller dogs.
