COFFIX Byford

COFFIX Byford is the busy specialty coffee and brunch spot in the heart of Byford, and one of the Perth Hills' more committed dog cafes: the alfresco area explicitly welcomes dogs, and the counter stocks dog treats and puppiccinos so nobody in the party misses out.

The dog setup

Dogs join you in the outdoor seating area, not indoors. Staff are comfortable around animals and water bowls are usually available, though on a hot Hills afternoon a bowl of your own is worth packing. The alfresco fills quickly at peak brunch times, so a mid-morning weekday visit is the relaxed option. Keep the lead clipped while the tables are busy; the area is compact rather than sprawling.

Worth knowing

The fried chicken croissant has a genuine local following, and the rest of the menu backs it up: acai bowls, bagels, donuts, matcha and thickshakes alongside properly made coffee. It trades seven days, roughly 7am to 2pm, which makes it a brunch-and-done stop rather than an all-day venue. Order at the counter and grab a table.

Getting there and parking

The address is Shop 2/1 Beenyup Road, Byford (6122), just off the South Western Highway on the southern edge of the Perth metro area. There is a free car park on site, so unlike most Perth cafe strips, the dog and the coffee are a short walk apart rather than a parking saga.

Make a day of it

Byford has the park options to earn the croissant: Byford Bark Park Fenced Dog Park for a proper off-lead run or The Glades Fenced Dog Park nearby, and the Byford Hills Walk Trail if you would rather earn it on foot. The Darling Ranges start just south, so this works as a coffee stop on a Jarrahdale day trip too.
