Findon Reserve

Findon Recreation Reserve on Roycroft Avenue is 11 hectares of open grass and sports grounds in Mill Park, with paved paths that make an easy on-lead circuit.

Lead rules

The City of Whittlesea manages the reserve, and dogs must be on lead. It is a sports and recreation ground, not an off-lead park.

The walk

Concrete and asphalt paths link the perimeter with the playground, fields and facilities. Expect soccer grounds, manicured lawns and established suburban planting rather than bush.

There are public water fountains, toilets and on-site parking. Trees around the edge give some shade, but the open fields dominate.

Make a day of it

For off-lead time, Redleap Recreation Reserve Dog Off-Leash Area sits just west of Peter Hopper Lake. Modo Mia is a local stop for coffee.

When to go

The paved, even paths suit older dogs and quick daily loops. Carry extra water on hot days, since the fields offer little cover.
