Eagleby Wetlands

Birdwatchers and dog walkers share the paths at Eagleby Wetlands, off Logan Street and Fryar Road in Eagleby. It is a mixed-surface ramble through melaleucas and open water, with stretches beside the Albert River.

Lead rules

Logan City Council manages the wetlands. Dogs are allowed, but they must be on a leash and under effective control, as this is not a designated off-leash area.

The walk

The track changes as you go, from boardwalk to gravel, grass and plain dirt. Expect a slower, sniffier walk rather than a smooth loop for a fast pace.

Waterbirds and raptors are the main attraction, so a steady dog on a short lead makes for a better outing for everyone. Water is not confirmed on the route, so bring some for the dog.

Make a day of it
