Dunstan Reserve Circuit Path

Dunstan Reserve at 24 Peacock Street in Brunswick West is an off-lead park with a sealed circuit path around its sports oval. Merri-bek City Council lets dogs off lead across most of the reserve, with the lead required in a few places.

Leads and the off-lead area

Dogs must be on lead within 15 metres of the playground, barbecues and picnic facilities. Off-lead play stops whenever organised sport is on the fields, so check for a soccer match before you unclip.

The circuit

The asphalt and concrete loop runs around the oval, past the community garden, outdoor exercise equipment and the playground.

Shade is limited to trees around the edges, with little shaded seating on the path.

Getting started

Free street parking is easy around Peacock Street. Bring water and bags, as dog water and bins along the circuit are not guaranteed.

Brady Reserve Dog Off Leash Area is another local off-lead option, and DALY’S is close by for coffee.

Go when the oval is clear of matches. The open loop suits dogs that need to burn energy with good recall.
