Coral Coast Pathways

Black volcanic rock, tidal pools and open Pacific views line the Coral Coast Pathways between Innes Park and Coral Cove. The path is paved, flat and graded for all abilities, which makes it an easy on-lead walk for almost any dog.

Leads on the coast path

Bundaberg Regional Council expects dogs on a lead along its coastal pathways and reserves unless a park is signed otherwise. Keep the lead short where the path narrows beside the rock platforms.

Sun, water and bins

There is very little overhead shade, and concrete and bare rock heat up fast. The sea breeze helps, but early morning or late afternoon is the time to go.

Dog water points are limited on the path itself, so bring a bottle and a travel bowl. Bins sit at the main access points and nearby reserves such as Innes Park Reserve, with gaps in between.

Max: Test the path with the back of your hand before a summer walk. If it is too hot for you, it is too hot for paws.

Getting started

Park near Innes Park Reserve or at the access points on the edge of Coral Cove, then walk the stretch between them.

Make a day of it

For an off-lead run afterwards, head up the coast to Mary Kinross Park Fenced Dog Park.

Smooth and level, this suits older dogs and puppies, as long as you dodge the midday heat.
